NewsNation, America’s fastest-growing cable news network in primetime, today announced that Ashleigh Banfield has reached a new multi-year agreement with the network to continue hosting her primetime program, Banfield, weeknights at 10 p.m. ET.
Each night, Banfield tackles the nation’s biggest stories, including the top crime cases making headlines. During more than 35 years as a broadcast journalist, Ms. Banfield has reported from locations around the world while serving in various roles for multiple television networks, including CNN, HLN, MSNBC, NBC, CourtTV, and ABC News. While at NewsNation, she has reported on such breaking news stories as the mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine, the Gabby Petito-Brian Laundrie murder case, the Bryan Kohberger trial, the Murdaugh trial, and the Gilgo Beach murders.

According to Nielsen, since September 2022, ratings for Banfield have nearly doubled among total viewers and are up more than 250% among those ages 25 to 54. Banfield also has increased its audience by triple-digits since its launch compared to January 2024, up more than 400% among both total viewers and adults 25 to 54.

Ms. Banfield recently appeared on “Crime Nation,” The CW Network’s first true-crime and justice anthology primetime series which premiered Tuesday, February 20th at 8 p.m. ET. The debut episode of the weekly two-hour program examined the Delphi murders, a case Ms. Banfield has covered extensively on her show.
