Airbus’ new A350 XWB will visit Auckland in August.
The new state of the art aircraft is currently on display at the Farnborough Airshow (see video below).
There are currently 169 orders for the aircraft from airlines including Cathay Pacific, Etihad Airways, Hawaiian Airlines, Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines.
Seen by many as a direct competitor to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner which was delivered to Air New Zealand last week, the larger capacity of the A350XWB puts the aircraft on par with Airbus’ own A330/340 series and the Boeing 777 series.
Planespotters should mark August 6 in their diary.
There will be more details closer to the time.
