Guy Williams is back – and this time, he’s accidentally doing journalism.

Following the success of New Zealand Today, the award-winning comedian and presenter returns this August with a brand-new show: New Zealand Tomorrow. Airing on Three and streaming on ThreeNow, the series promises another hilarious journey into the heart of small-town Aotearoa, with a surprising twist.

Winner of the NZTV Award for “Best Entertainment Show” and – unexpectedly – RNZ’s “Best Current Affairs Show”, Williams is known for his offbeat investigations into the weird and wonderful corners of the country. But in 2025, things take an unexpected turn.

Sent to Waimate to cover a feel-good story about wallabies, Guy stumbles onto something far more serious – and potentially explosive. What begins as a puff piece becomes a personal crusade, as he digs into the murky mystery surrounding the town’s water supply.

In typical Guy Williams style, New Zealand Tomorrow is part comedy, part chaos, and part accidental advocacy, as he attempts to unravel one of the biggest environmental questions facing the region – all while staying in the locals’ good books.

Made with the support of NZ On Air, New Zealand Tomorrow blends laughs, heart, and a dose of real-life drama in a show that might just change the future – or at least your opinion of Waimate.
