Network 10 has announced popular journalist and broadcaster Georgie Tunny is joining 10 News+, bringing her distinctive mix of warmth, insight and storytelling power to the network’s newly launched current affairs program.
A familiar face to Australian audiences from The Project, Georgie is widely regarded as one of the country’s most versatile journalists. Her impressive career spans the ABC, Flash, Fox Sports and national radio, with coverage ranging from breaking news and major entertainment events to high-profile interviews with global figures including Sir Paul McCartney, Tom Cruise, and Formula 1 stars Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo.
Georgie’s strong background in sport has seen her report pitch-side with Matildas goalkeeper Lydia Williams, co-host the Two Good Sports podcast, and travel to the United States on an IVLP Fellowship for leading female sports journalists. She’s also no stranger to high-pressure news environments, having anchored ABC’s rolling coverage of the 2019 Black Summer bushfires and reported from flood-affected communities in northern Victoria in 2022.
Now, Georgie steps into a key role at 10 News+, where she will help lead the network’s next chapter in news and current affairs, covering the biggest national and global stories with her trademark curiosity and connection.
“I’ve always been a fan of news delivered differently and am excited to be staying with the 10 family,” Georgie said. “Can’t wait to see where this new chapter leads!”
Martin White, Vice President of News at Paramount Australia, said: “I’m delighted Georgie is joining us at 10 News+. She is a standout journalist with a remarkable ability to connect with people and uncover the moments that resonate most. I’m looking forward to the stories with heart she’ll bring to our audiences.”
10 News+ launched this week as a bold new addition to Network 10’s news offering, delivering in-depth reporting, long-form journalism and premium insights. The program airs Friday to Sunday at 6pm on 10, 10 Play, and Spotify.
