Disney is bringing Camp Rock back for a third round, with Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas returning to their original roles and Demi Lovato joining them as an executive producer. Filming kicked off this week in Vancouver, and the new film will stream on Disney+ and air on Disney Channel.
The story follows the band Connect 3 as they head back to their old summer stomping ground when their reunion tour suddenly loses its opening act. Back at Camp Rock, a fresh group of campers compete for the coveted spot, testing friendships and sparking unexpected alliances and romances.
New cast members include Liamani Segura (Descendants: Wicked Wonderland) as Sage, Malachi Barton (ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires) as Fletch, Lumi Pollack (Electric Bloom) as Rosie, newcomer Hudson Stone as Desi, Casey Trotter (The Thundermans) as Cliff, Brooklynn Pitts as Callie and Ava Jean as Madison.
Joe Jonas reprises his role as Shane Gray, with Nick as Nate Gray and Kevin as Jason Gray. Maria Canals-Barrera (Wizards of Waverly Place) returns as Connie, and Sherry Cola (Joyride) joins the cast as Lark.
“‘Camp Rock’ is an important part of the Disney Channel Original Movie legacy, with unforgettable music, energetic storytelling, and characters that live in the hearts of fans to this day,” said Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television. “Bringing it back with Kevin, Joe, Nick and Demi is such a full-circle moment, and we can’t wait to reintroduce this world to a new generation.”
The first Camp Rock movie debuted more than 15 years ago, kicking off a franchise known for its music and lively performances. Veronica Rodriguez (The Slumber Party) directs, with a script by Eydie Faye (Slumber Party). Jamal Sims handles choreography. Executive producers include Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas, Demi Lovato, Tim Federle, Betsy Sullenger, Spencer Berman and Gary Marsh.
