Sky News has announced the launch of a new weekly discussion show, Freya Fires Up, hosted by rising political commentator Freya Leach.

Premiering Sunday 17 August at 6.00pm AEST, the program promises bold opinions and no-holds-barred debate on the biggest national and global news stories.

Leach, who recently joined The Late Debate as a co-host alongside James Macpherson and Caleb Bond, will now front her own solo program each Sunday night, where she’ll tackle current affairs through a sharply opinionated lens.

“I’m excited to bring bold ideas, fresh perspectives and fearless debate to Sky News Australia,” Leach said. “I care deeply about Australia but see a nation that’s losing its way. I’m fired up and I won’t hold back.”

A former Liberal candidate for Balmain in the 2023 NSW state election, Leach has built a profile as an outspoken conservative voice. She currently serves as Director of the Centre for Youth Policy at the Menzies Research Centre and recently completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Sydney.

Freya Fires Up premieres Sunday 17 August at 6.00pm AEST on Sky News Australia. The program will be available to stream at SkyNews.com.au or via the Sky News Australia app.
