TVNZ has confirmed that Celebrity Treasure Island, one of New Zealand’s most beloved reality TV hits, will return for its seventh season in 2026.

Backed by NZ On Air and eligible for the Screen Production Rebate, the upcoming season promises another high-stakes, emotion-fuelled celebrity showdown set against the breathtaking backdrop of Aotearoa.

The series, produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production New Zealand, has become more than just a competition. It has consistently celebrated Kiwi culture, embraced te reo Māori, and delivered moments that resonate deeply with audiences across the motu.

TVNZ’s Interim Chief News & Content Officer Brent McAnulty said the show continues to play an important role in the broadcaster’s commitment to delivering high-quality local content.

“Celebrity Treasure Island embodies the spirit of New Zealand storytelling. Its unique blend of emotion, humour and competition sparks conversation and connection, while amplifying local stories and values,” he said. “Ambitious local shows are central to our lineup, and we’re grateful to NZ On Air for making another season possible.”

The funding announcement came as part of NZ On Air’s latest non-fiction funding round, which also supports titles such as Hyundai Country Calendar, The Perfect Suspect, and coverage of the Milan Winter Paralympics.

Casting details for Celebrity Treasure Island 2026 are yet to be revealed, but fans can expect another unforgettable adventure when the series returns to TVNZ 2 and TVNZ+ next year.
