Two well-known chefs are bringing a slice of Aotearoa to Australian television as they travel the country in a tiny caravan for a new food and travel show.

Colin Fassnidge and Manu Feildel, familiar to viewers as hosts of My Kitchen Rules, swap studio kitchens for winding roads in Off the Grid with Colin and Manu, which debuts on Seven and 7plus at 9.15 pm Wednesday 24 September.

The series isn’t brand new to Kiwi audiences—it has already screened on TVNZ 1 and is available to stream on TVNZ+.

The pair say they’ve long been drawn to New Zealand for its produce, landscapes and people. Their new series follows them as they tick off a long-held plan: a culinary road trip through the country in their trusty caravan “Betty”.

“We love the produce, the country and the people,” Fassnidge said.

On their journey they venture away from tourist spots, meeting locals, sampling regional dishes and uncovering family recipes along the way.

In the first episode, the chefs leave Auckland for the Coromandel, stopping in Kuaotunu for spearfishing before cooking on the beach.

The night continues on Seven with the return of The House of Wellness, hosted by Shane Crawford and Mel Doyle.
