Sky News is shaking up its weekend schedule, adding extra editions of its flagship programmes First Edition and NewsDay. The new line-up kicks off on Saturday, 6 September from 6.00am AEST.

From 6.00am each Saturday and Sunday, Weekend First Edition will be fronted by Alex Thomas, a journalist with more than three decades’ experience at CNN, ITN, and the BBC.

Thomas said:

“I feel privileged to be the new host of Weekend First Edition and cannot wait to get started. We want to deliver Australians the biggest news stories nationwide, and from across the globe. We’ll cover breaking events, live, as they happen, with engaging, expert guests bringing analysis and context. I’m excited to use my decades of international broadcast journalism experience to add to the excellent teams at Sky News Australia and FOX SPORTS News.”

Also joining the weekend roster is presenter Jaynie Seal, who will host Weekend NewsDay. Seal will front the programme at 10.00am on Saturdays and 12.00pm on Sundays.

Seal said:
