Seven is shaking up weekday afternoons with a new block of game shows and regular live news updates, starting Monday 22 September.
Called Winning Arvo, the line-up runs from 1pm on Seven and 7plus, mixing quiz favourites with hourly headlines delivered by journalist Alex Cullen.
Cullen, who rejoined Seven in July after more than a decade away, said he’s looking forward to the challenge. “I’m so excited to be coming home to Seven and I can’t wait to take viewers through the afternoon with something that’s never been done before. We’re making afternoons fun along with delivering the news that matters,” he said.
Programming director Aaron Howison said the schedule brings together fast-paced quiz shows with live news coverage. “Winning Arvo marks an evolution in afternoon television – an irresistible mix of thrilling, high-stakes game shows and Australia’s #1 news service. This supercharged line-up offers our audience a fresh, engaging and fast paced afternoon viewing experience,” he said.
