Veteran radio broadcaster Grant Kereama is taking over Coast’s Drive show, bringing his trademark energy and love of 80s music to afternoons across New Zealand.
Kereama’s radio career has spanned decades, starting on the ZM Night Show before moving to The ZM Morning Crew, where he co-hosted one of the country’s most popular breakfast shows through the 90s and 2000s. He’s also appeared on television as a Lotto host and acted in two feature films.
Most recently a weekend presenter on Coast, Kereama now steps into the weekday Drive slot, while current host Jon Dunstan moves to weekends.
Coast Content Director David Brice said: “We’re so pleased to have Grant join us fulltime as our Drive show host. Grant’s deep passion for music, his incredible knowledge of the 80s era and his genuine connection with audiences make him the perfect fit for Coast Drive. He joins our stellar line-up of Toni Street, Jason Reeves and Sam Wallace on Breakfast, Lorna Riley on Days, Jason Tikao on Nights and Jon Dunstan on weekends – together they create the complete Feel Good 80s experience for our listeners.”
Kereama said: “I feel honoured to have the opportunity to work in this wonderful industry, and on a station that is so very close to my heart. Coast covers an era that was so influential to me. The 1980s. It’s where I started this radio caper. And to be able to work with such a wonderful bunch of talented people is such a privilege.”
Coast Drive with Grant Kereama airs weekdays from 3pm to 7pm on Coast and via iHeartRadio.
